Acute Pain Management

Peripheral Nerve Blocks

Overview

A peripheral nerve block is an injection of a local anesthetic around a specific bundle of nerves. The procedure is used to temporarily block or disrupt painful nerve impulses associated with neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is sometimes a result of damaged nerves.

How Does It Work?

A peripheral nerve block prevents nerves from sending pain signals to the brain, providing temporary relief from pain.
